Why is functional training good for me?

Our Concept

The main motivation for most people to train is to "look better" or "feel fitter," but with functional training, the primary goal is to improve performance: that is, to increase physical performance, improve the way the body moves, and increase strength in all movement patterns.

Functional training has a significant impact on life outside the gym. Whether you're training for sports or your daily life, everyone can benefit from it.

How is training conducted and why?

Unlike bodybuilding (where muscles are trained in isolation), functional training focuses on training movement patterns. This means the body is moved as it moves in everyday life:

Across multiple planes (multiplanar)

Very often, training is only conducted in the sagittal plane, and the other two planes are neglected. The problem with this is that it often leads to injuries. For example, one can more easily get an ankle sprain if not accustomed to a change of direction in the frontal plane (side-to-side plane).

Functionality in all planes not only contributes to a lower risk of injury but also improves balance, stability, and athletic performance.

Athletic Performance & Injury Prevention

Functional training will improve your athletic performance by increasing your strength, stability, and quality of movement. This protects joints and makes muscles more resistant to common injuries such as strains. The balance of the training ensures that no imbalances develop. These are a common reason for injuries in athletic people.

More Strength in Everyday Life & Hobbies

Isolated muscle building does not translate well to everyday life outside the gym. Functional training does. This means that it improves your ability to handle everyday tasks such as carrying groceries, mowing the lawn, or carrying a child.

You will also find it easier in leisure activities such as cycling, hiking, climbing, or jogging.

Moreover, it's fun, varied, and brings you long-term success!
